Valdez Trail Research, Photo, and Painting Trip - August 2006 Dawn, Betsy, and Hana are Fairbanks (Alaska) area watercolor artists preparing for their March 2007 art show at the Valdez City Museum. The theme of the show is the Old Valdez-Fairbanks Trail, so preparations have included historical research of the Trail from the goldrush times on. Another goal of this trip was to do plein air painting, but because of wet and windy weather, more time was spent researching old roadhouse and historic sites, taking with old-timers, and taking photo references. Some of the photos were earmarked for sharing via this slideshow. |
